cold cranking amps

I have an M Farmall bored and stroked some.Putting 12 volts to factory 6volt 2 bolt starter.Dorsnt always want to turn good.Gaer reduction starters are EXPENSIVE.Is there some other sarter that would work?Or would just going to a 900 or 1000 cca battery help? currently using smaller automotive type for weight reasons 550 or 650 not sure.

Maybe carry a few big batteries on a cart and jump start it??? If the starter is good, you might try some real heavy cables, keep the battery as close to the starter as you can, and a smaller battery may work better, but cant beat a good 1000 amp battery, maybe look somewhere you could remove some more weight off the tractor to make up for the weight difference. Till then, you may be eating starters, or damage from pull starting it,, Hope this helps,, Chad
