I pull with 16/9 X 34 tires on a 12 inch wide rim and wonder what the advice would be about high or low tire inflation on a hard track.

I run 16.9x34s on my stock tractor with about 10-11 lbs of pressure. My rim width is 15" and the holes I dig seem to be fairly even. This is in 5,500 and 6,500 lb classes. Hope that helps.

Jerry, first of all, it won't make much difference if you are running only a 12 inch rim. That isn't nearly enough rim for a 16.9 tire. You need to be using AT LEAST a 14" rim and a 15" is the recommended size for that section tire. A 16" rim actually works the best. You can try all kinds of air pressure but your rims will not allow you to use the potential of the tires you have. A 16.9-34 tire works very well on the correct rim. Mike

16.9-34's fat sloppy and lazzy !
what does your foot print look like at the end of the pull ? concave or convex !

draw bar height dropp's with heavy weight and low tire pressure. Low pressure loose a ton of hitch heigth , at the end of the pull !

Good tight track more pressure, if you got enough juice under the hood ! Lower pressure, if you need slippage to keep the motor in the hunt !
Haven't pulled in a couple of year's, but that rim width is to narrow ! Mfg suggested 15's I think ? an inch under would be ideal !
7000lb class 15.5-38's (co-op's) on 14" rims hooked well at 14.5-15.5 lbs in all condition's

Just my opinion ! Got to keep the center of the tire in contact with the ground !

If you have the power I think lowering the pressure helps.
