Who all makes stroker kits for the 248,264, and 281 engines?
Are they available in kit form or do you have to send the motor off? Thanks, Charles

We don't know of anyone that makes a stroker kit. Normally they are all custom built for each customer. We can stroke a crankshaft with many different journal sizes and strokes but to explain all the combinations I would have to write a book. If interested in discussing the possibilites, contact me at:

supermpuller is right. Go with Lemmons or Paul. All a good group of guys but i like Paul. My buddie had him build him a BIG M. i got the chance to pull it last week it runs very good and wins most of the time. It is a DivIII but he run DivII some with it also.

I dont know of anybody making kits unless you find an old M+W Hi-torque crank kit,but they havent been made for a long time.I found one about 15 years ago and is still running strong. It was for a 450 ,kit number 179.

Question for mpuller2.....does merfeld build engines for the old F20's and 30's too, or does someone over by Peosta that runs the really good running F20 and 30 with the wide front end that I watched pull at the Ankeny Expo a few years ago do those? If neither of these fellows do this commercially for F20's and 30's, do you know of anybody else around Iowa, or elsewhere for that matter, that does? Or at least of someone who provides components for one to build their own? Would anyone on this board care to offer any advice to a wannabe F20/30 puller what they have to do to make one of these old girls give all of the others out there a run for their money while still holding together and not busting a crank or otherwise blowing to pieces, and please give me some idea as to what to expect to have to spend and be consistently competitive in the "original appearance externally but do what you wish internally class", which I believe might be division 3?

Thanks in advance to all who care to respond to a new guy on the block.

Steve, I can't say for certain if the tractors you are talking about are Merfeld creations or not, but I know he had a real good running F-30 and several F-20's out some years ago, saw them in Sigourney back in the 90's. If you want to build an F-20 or 30, he'd be the guy to talk to. Ther's several generations of knowledge available as Keith's Dad also built pulling motors for the old Farmalls.
