Easy guys! I have had a talk with the Cases.
Trent, I'll give you a call later this afternoon.
We are trying our best to satisfy everyone--I know this will never happen. The reason for changing our rules in the first place was so that we could be more consistant with the other pulls in our area. At this time we don't have the help or the equip. that we need to check RPMs on every tractor. We are asking the pullers to police themselves. This generally works for most. If we were pulling for money or points it would be different.
The bottom line is we offer a $4.00 trophy. The money raised ALL goes to the volunteer fire dept.
You have got to admit that there have been some positives from the rule changes as well.

Dave,

That was me answering Trent. We know you guys are trying and you're doing a pretty good job. The problem is when it's so-o obvious that you don't need a tach. Then there's the 900+ cubic inch two cylinders that don't belong. We have quite a few tractors with way more than one size over on the tires as well. Maybe Muddy Run has the answer to that one with the 18.4-38 max for antiques and 20.8 for classics.

I just don't like to see rules that aren't enforced. They only hurt the honest people and help the offenders dominate. I'll talk to you later!

We sent the letter out and inserted language about utilizing the stock engines along with stock stroke.
It is not always easy to spot or identify a stroked motor or a different block.
The tire size issue is a touchy one. I see what you are saying. Muddy Run's idea may work. One of our early goals was to stay consistant and not be changing the rules before every pull. In the past you couldn't build tractors fast enough for the rule changes.

Please keep your ideas comming in. Feel free to email me with them. We are trying to get through this year and then look at modifying or changing some of the rules. Do you know anyone that would want to donate a RPM tool?

Thanks

If you ask about being within the rules, you won't be. If you just do it nobody will ever say anything. 4 tire sizes over and 40% on the rpms. Don't go any further than that and nobody will bother you! Rules appear to only apply to losers.

Well my problem exactly!!!!! ! I'm building to the rule specs. and will eventually get it right to beat the one guy that beats me. He only runs 3500-4000 rpms with a few light CASES That sounds fair right. OHwell. Money don't always win in my book I will eventually out think them.
