I got an farmall H for the best posible price you could get one for. (Free). The motor was apart when I got it but other than that it was compleat. I have it striped right down sitting on the shop floor right now. I want to build a NATPA Div4/5 puller out of it. The axles are still on the trans. I took the cover off the trans to try and clean out all the tar that the gear oil had turned into over the years. SO here is the point i am at right now. I don't care about motor work, thats a long way off still. Where do start. Is there anything i need to do to the trans while I can get at it? I was thinking about putting weld on hubs on it. Will I be able to get the axels out after that if I have to? (i hope i won't though) Should i strip everything right out of the trans? Is there anythign i need to do to the trans? After that whats next?

Div. 4 or 5 ... good to see you have your goals set high enough. I'm sure there are some mods. neccessary to the rear end of the H to accomodate the 125-140 HP required to compete in NATPA div 4 3500-4500. If you don't have a lot of pulling experience, set it up for div.2 or 3, div. 4&5 are a money pit, but if that's where you want to be, go for it.
