Ok, so I am ready to take the big step. I hear he is one of the best and I have seen some of his work in action. Now I need his phone number.

Also, need to turn the RPMs up 30% on the Super M. I already have put a stronger spring in. Now I just need to get it spinning a little bit faster.

As always, I appreciate everyone's help.

Merfeld Machine, 14807 Hwy 20, Peosta, Iowa. 563-582-8710. He did a crank & rods for me last summer, 90 days. Excellent work.

Had one... I won't beat around the bush any... Crankshaft was/is still good... Everything else wasn't to good... Can't really complain... it lasted for about 6 yrs... We redid the head.. The carb. manifold. new rings.. Should have replaced the rods... No. three broke.. (wasn't boxed) and now we have a Hutson short block.. yeah and if you have 2 yrs to wait for it... be my guest... I would stay clear and go with Baker, Lemmons, or Marlatt. For your M... Your choice though man...

Baker's phone number 734.676.9688
About a 2 year waiting list for a motor from Baker. Price tag low, 5 figures !

Baker has done some work for me. and I have some other work in process at his place !
Extremely fair, knowledgable, and pays much attention to detail.
How many machine shops-engine builders, can you drop product off to and never worry about the stuff coming up missing ? That's how Baker does things. Straight from the get-go !
No muss, No Fuss !
First guy 've ever met that told me , the inside of the block needed to be painted !
Take an original one apart, then you'll know why !

Hope this helps !

Ya, got a few pics. I'll post some on here later tonight if I can remember how.

I have seen a couple tractors with Merfield cranks that were red. I was highly impressed by his work.
