Hehe...that would be me ;). I just finished mine up and, no, it is certainly not pointless. Now, putting a turbo on and using the factory carb and manifolding like the one in the photo album would be less productive, but it is still not pointless IMO. I ditched the governor and updraft for a electronic rev limiter and a Holley carb, but for a farm tractor that does not make much sense. Mine is for pulling and all I need is a few seconds in 4th gear so bouncing off the rev limiter is not big deal. If I were doing one for an updraft and trying to use the governor, I would certainly get a larger carb. You will also want to keep in mind that you need to boost reference the fuel pressure supply in some way. This could be using a fuel pump and regulator like I did, or in a factory setup I guess you could boost reference the tank. This is necessary because if you dont, when boost=fuel pressure fuel flow=0. An EFI pump, 4309 Mallory FPR, and a 350cfm Holley are working well for me so far. You will also want to keep the turbo small. Dont be temped to throw a large one on it, cause it will not work. I am using a 50 trim Garrett TO335 and it is a perfect match to the engine.
