Looking for some pros and cons on my choice for my next puller. I am trying to choose between a 450 Farmall and a 51' M Farmall that was converted to propane in the 50's. They are both in the $2500-$3000 price range. The M was converted to gas 2 years ago by the non pulling farmer. He left the propane head on the tractor. It comes burning gas with the extra propane tank and extra propane hood and extra propane fuel delivery thing--whatever you call it. What do you think? Should I check the compression before I buy? What should the compression be on the 450? What should the compression be on the M with the propane head? Will 450 pistons work with a propane head? Thanks for your suggestions.

I thought the Fire Crater pistons would give a higher static pressure then flat tops. Learn something every day. Charles
