I know this is a tractor pulling pg. but I need help with a hauler. I have a 1996 ford f-250, 4X4, with 16in tires. What type of jack would be the safest and best to use if i have a flat?

Thanks again

I blowed my 2 ton jack picking up one side of my trailer with 5000 lbs of tractor and weights so go figure what you need.

I carry a 12 ton "mack jack in a box", which was bought at walmart, placed in right spot will pick up just about anything, plus everything is in one box. we also carry a 20ton bottle jack as we do pull a 48 ft van with 4 tractors in it. it is better to have more jack than you need. recommend bottle jacks and blocks of wood

Well I guess that would depend on how heavy of a load you are hauling. If you use the dollys on the trailer to take the load off the truck as you jack you can get by with a 2 ton jack easily. Hope this helps.

2 ton? I carry a 10 ton for my 20K gooseneck. Yes in theory it would pick up the entire trailer. But in real life, it won't. When you are laying on your side beside the highway in the heat even that 10ton jack is a chore to use. It takes a good 75lbs of force on the handle. Hard to do in an odd spot. I plan to pick up a 20 ton. For the extra $20 bigger is better.
