Any one know how to slow down first Gear in 43B 1st gear is to fast for power output? Plus the horn will blow and I have to throttle back? Your Help would be apreciated.

Maumee Valley Pullers Pull- Div 2 Tractor May Be Overreved but. Not Competitive. Need to slow it Down to use What Power it Has . After Reading all the listings I think it would be best and Easy to go to Smaller Dia Tires . Tractor May not look the way I would Like but Should Help. Or go down to Div 1 Stock Pulls only

We have a '39 B, here in Southern VA, that will " blow the horn" in 1st gear in the 3MPH class!! The sled has a manual overide that may be used when we pull. There are some clicks here and we are not in one!!!

I was thinking that 1st gear was about 2.5MPH, must be running over RPM's.

On an A you can change the reduction gear on the side as well as the gear on the pulley and sloe it .5 mph.A B should be the same.Find a junked out late model B with a six speed and change them out.

Jak, Not so easy on a B because diameter of clutch pulley hub where clutch gear is pressed on is larger on the later models and the first reduction gear and shaft are also larger. It could be done by swapping spider / centers of first reduction gears that have removable spiders and some machine work to make spacer on pulley gear. Never did this on a B but did consider it years ago, just decide to put the effort toward a little more power and shift it up a gear instead! DW
