I have a 49 utu and wanting to weight it down for pulling in the 6500 class. With no weight and me on it, it weights 5700. I plan to put 400 on rear wheels and unsure then where to add more, in the front or at the bell housing. Any thoughts and/or suggestions.

Make a front weight rack that will accept weights sideways as far front as possible. Use only the weights necessary at the front. This takes a few pulls to figure out how many are needed. Every track and its condition is different. The most important basic decision before weight location is draw bar length and chain length. The draw bar and chain length will largely determine the lift on the front if you get a good bit. Add what ever weight not needed on the back.

front weight depends on the grip of the track , which will chance depending on moisture contend, compaction and type of soil

This is my first moline. I have Pulled with a ZA diesel and that got awfully light in the front end. I believe the u would be lighter when pulling. The tracks around here typicaly lose traction before power. Dont know maybe throw 600 lbs at the rear wheels and 150 at the front. I only pull about 4-5 times a year, I would hate to figure it out at the end of the season.
