what modifications do i have to make to run the6a yousing the points do i remove the condesor thank for any help

Do NOT use the condenser! READ the manual! The condenser requires a load to discharge. With the MSD there is no load, and will fire erraticaly. This could damage your engine if you are running high compression. It's best to through away your points and condenser and install a petronics in it place.

I have run mine for years w/ the condensor and havent had a problem.

Guys the Condenser stores energy. If you have the condenser in there ... take it out! Even if you have been running it with the condenser in it. What its doing is shocking your MSD box. The resistors inside the box are taking a beating, bad thing to do! Beleive me I use to work for Hendrick Motor Sports I know a few things about MSD. All the MSD needs is a signal to know when to fire the plugs, that is all that the points do. The Box does not require any voltage to fire the plugs from the signal. Another little peice of info you might wanna know, the "Multiple Spark" only works under 1500 RPM's. It was designed to keep high compression engines running HIGH octane fuel from fouling out the plugs at idel. I have never dynoed a tractor engine without MSD then put it on it and tryed it again. I dont know the gains that MSD gives you but if anybody has done this before I would appreciate it if you could give me some results of the dyno pulls.
