I just got word this week that our fair board would like to have a tractor pull. This would be an indoor pull at the local fair grounds.I need to get some promoters who would be interested in helping to get a pull started.I am needing some info as to what will be involved.I had some names before as to who has the sleds but lost my list.If things can be worked out,we usually have our county fair on labor day week. Then again maybe we can have one before then.Thanks.

There is alot to lining up a pull, but its all worth it when it's going on and everyone is enjoying it. Asking business's for money is the hardest part. Some times fair boards will pay for the seld and also give out better payouts or an added purse. Can't help on the sled but get plenty of help, maybe 2 shifts. And not everyone will show up to work so have extra help. You'll need tractors to pull a packer and box scrape. Personal don't like a dry dust track. Work the track 3 days before add water let it soak in and the day before sheepfoot it and rubber tire pack it. We have put as much as 5,000 gallons on a dry track. Don't know about your soil but if it's inside it's dry. Insurance is necesary. Are you antique or farm? Get it out with flyers, in the paper & on this site. Outside pulls are more common in the summer. We had a pull in Norfolk, NE couple weeks ago. (inside) Had 164 hooks & it took 6 hrs. Took enough of your time. Good luck. Any other questions just ask here.

Dale, give me a call and I will give you what advice I can. As for sleds, the guys over in Morrow can most likely help you with that, I think they use the Kansas Dragon Wagon which is owned by Tvman who reads these posts. The Morrow guys can also give you some good tips, they are a great bunch of guys.
