I was wonderin what weight class a John Deere 60 would be in. I have no fluid in tires but it has a wide front on it. Thanks in advance.

Mine pulls from 7,500-10,500. She can make 6500 and she is all there and still a good farm work tractor. It has a power block and a bunch of other little goodies and is putting out 75hp. Mine has the rolomatic, pto, hydraulics, all the goodies a fully loaded farm tractor would have. Only reason i dont pull 6500 is becuase the club wont alow anything with 18.4 x 38 in classes lower than 7500.

Thats what I was thinking, thats a lot w/o mentioning stroking.I have been humbled before while using a dyno on my tractor.I know of a 60 with capped pistons, electronic ignition, dry air filter system putting out only 44 hp at 540 pto rpm's on our M&W dyno.

75 hp is impressive with only a powerblock and other mods, I would think it would take at least 540 cid plus to get that kind of hp.

I took "other little goodies" to mean it had about an 8" crank in the thing. A decent running 540ci should make MORE than 75hp.

With a decent cylinder head and camshaft, an 8incher would get him that much power. I assume he has the manifold fixed so each cylinder can draw off of both carb barrels.

No live pto, power steering, and narrow front I would say she would go 6000 but with the wide front it't gonna be close to going over that. Here they allow 100lbs over most of the time.It would be nice if there was a feedmill close to ya and take it there(or drive it if its close enough)and weigh it.It will give you a good idea.

DANG!Them naders don't play.A 60 here has 18.4 38's and pulls best in 7500lbs,he beat one bad U Moline in 7500 one night taking first place at a big pull. The Moline man wasn't very happy about it either.

Better hang onto that memory, I would say that was a rarity and the moline guy really messed up that night. JD's are great , but no match for any sort of built moline.
