I have 99 F350 fwd psd 190 K on it . The ABS light stays on and the speedometer does not read till it hits 40 mph. This all happened on the same day. Is this a coincidence or are they connected. I have cleaned the wire connection at the trans for the Speedo and at the rear for the ABS. My friend checked for any codes nun were found. I disconnected the batteries to re set the computer but both still do not work . I checked all the fuse and they are good one is for ABS and speed control which makes me think the problem is related. Any help would be of help or a teck forum that you need not sign in to would help or its going to be a trip to Ford and my pants being pulled down when I get the bill. Thanks for any help .

Piston their is a star wheel be hind the rotor and will be frozen they tell me most times you pull the linging off trying to get the rotor hub and axial out to get to the star wheel thats why I bought new shoes and ankcor kits . I got luky and did it whithout destroying the shoes which were like new but you cant take back special order to big box store auto.

Ford says they are nonadjustable.MY 99 never had a good one in 200K,but my 03&05 you couldn't ask for anything better,so something was changed after 99.

190 K on it and the rearend oil has probably never been changed. My Superduty did that and the speedo sensor on the rear axle was loaded with shavings. This is a magnetic sensor and attracts metal shavings that are in the gear oil. Screw the sensor out and clean it. Then if this fixes the problem change the gear oil. Have your checkbook out for that, the oil is a special sythetic around $17.00 a quart.

good luck

I know of a 99 F250 PSD that did the same thing. I forget what was done to fix it though. If I remember right, the odometer didnt work as well.

I had the same problem with mine. The emergency brake was just barely on. Try pulling your release lever. Just a thought.
