JD 60 powerblock

What are good classes for a JD 60 with a powerblock and some other small tricks to run in. It is going to be in div II. I beilieve the guy i am buying it off of was starting in 6500 lb classes how ever he has a eliminating pto rear casting, pressed steel rear, and smaller front wheels for sale as extra. It has 18.4 38 on the rear so im not sure what classes i can make or how high i can go. Does 6500 and 8500 sound fair or will it pull make 5500 with the above mentioned items?

NATPA rules don't allow Power-Blocks in Div. II, so depending on what rules the pulls you attend follow, your tractor may not be legal for Div. II. I would think 6500 would be fairly easy to hit with even most of the stock equipment intact, except for maybe pressed wheels on the back. Does the tractor have power-steering? That adds quite a bit of weight to the front end. What front-end - Roll-O-Matic or plain tricycle? Big differences in weight there, also. In good shape and properly tuned, a "60" should have all the power you'll ever need for just about any weight class if you pull in 1st gear. Good compression, gasket-matching of the intake, carb and head, maybe some mild porting and polishing and all those other "little" things should have it running like a charm. You might also want to consider an "LP" intake/exhaust manifold set-up, instead of the gasoline "heat-valve" units, which can put quite a bit of heat into the intake.
