I have a Farmall M with a junk block. I would like to build a pulling tractor. I was wondering if i should get another m block and rebuild it or should i get a block out of another tractor like a a 400 or 450 and put it in my M. I would like to pull in the farm stock class

The right casting numbers, molding clay, JB Weld, auto spray undercoating and a good job of grinding off of the wrong numbers.

Why would you go through that much trouble? If you are in farmstock, run what you can run in an M block. Maybe this guy only want 4.125 and he is gonna spend a BOATLOAD of time and money doing stuff he don't have to do?? I don't know...just a thought...

definitely go with a 450 block, not just for displacement, but for durability and strength. if its against the rules who cares, you can get replacement serial # plates and install em wherever you want on the block since 450 serial # plates arent in the same place as the M.

Ever hear of dont ask dont tell? There are some blocks that do not have the CI stamped or casted into the side of the block,,, so its a toss up. Most places let the M's run the late blocks, unless your pulling in stricter classes. AC, sorry i missed you down there the other day,,, I havent forgot. So, be patient. in about 3 weeks Ill be able to take care of business. Ill be in touch. ChadS

Yeah, now that I think of it, there are some blocks that are not stamped, I think I remember hearing that..I totally agree with "dont ask don't tell" If someone puts the brains into figuring something unique out, more power to them! Chad, thats fine...drop me a line when its time...Andy
