I've had 2 cranks done by Keith, and I've sent several people to him. Tell him when you need the crank and see if he can do it in your timeframe.

I had Keith Merfeld do a JD crank for me last summer. The turnaround time was about 90 days, but I'm sure he is drowning with work at this time of year like most other crank jobbers. AS for the quality of his work, it's excellent. It's the straightest 2 cyl.stroker I've seen. Everything fit the way he said it would. You can try him at 563-582-8710.

Im am curious, if this is the straightest crank you have seen, how did you check this crankshaft for straight, what was the runout and how concentric are the flywheel splines to the main journals?

I recommend either TNT or Jack's Repair for cranks.

I talked to Todd this week. He's had a really busy winter and the boys haven't been around to help much. He's had my crank since the 1st of November and it seems likey I'll get it back around the end of March. Luckily I'm not in a big hurry. His work is worth the wait.

Steve

I also highly recommend Todd at TNT. If a shop is busy odds are that means they do excellent work, which Todd does. Steve, which tractor are you working on now? Are you trying to "enhance" the A? Mike

Yes I am...nothing like a little stroke to bump the HP. I might have a line on getting a power block too. I've been working this winter on a 730 LP I picked up a year ago. She's stock but man is she stout. A little paint and some wheelie bars and we'll be ready for Columbia April 1st. Are you going to bring your 70?

Yes, if all goes well and I can get a set of tires cut for myself (or even if I can"t) I am planning on bringing the 70. The tires I have on it now are not big enough to get what it has to the ground. I will find a set one of these days. Mike
