kelly star buck has sold his sled, and it was told to me the price has gone up on the new owners sled , flint hills truck pullers bought it and are fixing it up, the new cost went up 500.00, some of the smaller pulls i think are going to have a hard time with this raise in cost , I am looking for others sleds that might want to pull in kansas, have a nice day

How do I get in contact with this Tvman? We used the new owners of Kelly's sled, since we've used Kelly's for years, and the cost was $600!! For our next pull they want to add fuel costs on top of that. Little steep for us small town tractor pulls. Anyone else out there wanting to come to Kansas?

Was 600 the total cost or was hook fees added. What part of kansas are you. How many hooks do you average at a pull. What was kelly charging. Was the scales furnished. 600 doesn't sound that high--kansas dagon wagon did charge a flat fee of 500 in the past but dont know what he charges now.

The club I belong to (Heartland Antique Tractor Pullers Assc.) in NE Kansas charges $175 plus $3 per hook. Our sled is not self-propeled so need a pull back tractor. The promotors charge $10 per hook. We pull mostly Div 2 and 3. As a club we just try to break even for the year. Pulls usually consist of 60 to 100+ hooks.

600 was total cost, and that's not bad for the big pull we had in June, which averages anywhere from 80 to 120 pulls. Before we were paying Kelly $5 for each hook. But our second pull in Oct usually averages 50 to 60 pulls, it's smaller because we don't have a big show with it like we do in June. Maybe we need to up our hook fee of $8. With the June pull we had 80, which means we pd the sled people $7.50 a hook, so we made 50 cents a hook. But if we only pull 50 on our next one... that puts the hook fee of $12 each we'll be paying with the fee of $600. Yes, the scales were also furnished. We are not out there to make money but for everyone to have fun. But when you lose money on smaller shows.... We are in Southeast Kansas.
