Thru the Deutz grapevine I have heard that there was 2 Deutz at a antique pull recently that were not allowed to pull. I was told that they were told the pull was for US tractors only. Is this true? If it is can someone point me to the rule book so I can read it for myself? Thanks John

Some track official is either trying to thin out the competition. Or he's either one of those ultra patriotic pricks that doesn't realize the world doesn't stop at the end of the US border. He may very well go home and sit on his 2355 or 6000 series JD and not know he's sitting on a German built tractor with a French or Spanish built engine.

I have looked at NATPAs webb site and didnt find any such rule. Looks like you were %$##&(. Have always wanted to see a DEUTZ 05 pull. Dont feel lonesome , every time i ask someone from NATPA if I can pull my tractor thay want to put it in div4. My steering wheel has a crome center.Try asking John Lampkin if you can pull with USAP. Better people make better pulling.

I don't know much about the deuztes traktors but what is wrong with having a all U.S.A. rule Why is it no one wants to support your nation any more? Lets see all our jobs are going overseas , The car market is flooded with japan's shitbox cars . You cannot go to Wally world and buy anything made in the US . Nascar chickin $hits have folded to Toyota. Wake up folks this all affects our economy. Good luck to the next generation I hope they can find a decent job . For Gods sakes can anything be US ONLY . Buy American People Including antique tractors. My Opinion of course . I think I still have a right to express it for now at least????? . Thanks for the time .. USA Puller.

The company I work for was running dies making parts for the new at the time Harley-Davidson V-Rod. After getting the bugs out of the dies and making them run right The company pulled them out of our shop and sent them to China. 14 dies gone and 5 jobs lost.

At the same time HONDA added a new line to their Marysville, Ohio plant employing another 70 Americans. I don't care who or what the name is, if they put Americans to work I will support them.

As for tractors? if ya get up in the later John Deeres there are alot of them built in Germany. Fords in England. Point is in pulling who cares where it came from. if it meets the requirements then it should pull.

Does this mean that the CockShutts shouldn't pull either?

I don't much care what anyone pulls as long as the ground speed is the same, and the weight matches up. Talking about made in the USA, friend it's only gonna get worse. We live in a global economy, and it just happens that our level of existance so far exceeds the rest of the world. Labor is so cheap to the extent that all our manufacturing jobs are slowly being outsourced to countries that have labor 10% the cost of our domestic. The day's of Henry Ford, and Andrew Carnegie, buisnessmen who care about America over profit are gone, and No company is going to continue paying 60 grand a year plus retirement, and heath insurance forever. Epecially when China is truely industrializing, and willing to manufacture everything, including your kitchen sink. Look at this last weeks decission by the current Ford Management to cut 30,000 jobs. If you throw in health insurance for these folks, that's a loss of nearly 2 Billion into the ecomony by itself. But as for tractors, if you tried to have a regular farm tractor class with Modern tractors, under 10,000 pounds, you'd be hard pressed to find any American Made Tractor{not American owned company} to pull in it.

I believe this happened at the NATAP pull in Carthage on 1-21-06. I was the promoter of this pull and was there. NATPA said the tractor could not pull as it was not made in the US, but I understand that it has pulled NATAP before. The owner and I had a long discussion about this. I told him I was sorry it had happened, but it apparently is a NATPA rule (true or false) that I was not aware of. I also told him that he was more than welcome to come to any of our pulls in Granby, MO this year and pull with us. We would not turn him or any tractor away that meets the safety standards, which of course his did.

I am sorry that had to happen at your pull. NATPA has given your pull a black eye and I would like to have you discuss this with them. They have a Cockshutt that pulls for points so now this tractor is out. Which tractor company will be the next to be banned? I think someone got beat bad by a Deutz and is not man enough to pull against one again. John

I better not be kicked out I won 2 point classes last year with it,so I doubt the issue is USA made tractors only I think it has to do with Nebraska test data to make sure the rpm and hp ratings are equal.I would say thewre is more to the story because I have not heard the other side yet.

Read Patches post. He said he was told it was a NATPA rule but unsure if it was a true rule or not. As far as test data, if the ID plate is still on the tractor it will have the RPM on it. Use that as a guide. If the plate is off he should have been given to chance to call the Deutz help line and someone could have faxed the data to the pull. Anyway if the rule was used for only US tractors then you must be out because a Cockshutt is not a US tractor. Unless you can get the powers to change back to the old way. I have an idea. Make a rule for Diesel only.

Hey I also side with you, I am a true IH man but them old Deutz Tractors run very hard my Dad and a friend used to pull two 130-06's and would beat them old 10 and 1466 Internationals and The John Deeres with ease yes Deere boys they got the Green ones two. Later on my Dad quit because he stated Farming and didnt have time anymore. But the other continued to pull up into hot stock and was very competitive. When my dad pulled there was also another guy that pulled a 100-06 and between the three of them they won 56 trophys that summer. so yes them Deutz can run hard granit that was twenty years ago before hypermax was out and them binders no are the only way to go to be competitive so it may be a little harder to run them but still dad sayed his deutz would slip the pto clutch at 250 horse on the dyno so I would say if they dont allow them they are scared.
