want to know if the J.D. pistons-A3282R and rod A2344R is what I have in the block now the rods are bad and the pistons are bad. wanting to know if a set of aluminum pistons and a set of A rods number A4848R will work in this block. I do know that the A4848R rods are longer than the A2344R rods but do not know about the pistons differents. Thank-you

I'm assuming that you have a late A from the piston P/N (gas piston for 584,000 and up). Aluminum pistons should work fine and are available from a number of suppliers. P/N A4648R rods are a direct replacement for the A2344R rods. I don't see a listing for an A4848R rod in the A or 60 parts book. Mike
