Does the ZF trans have the same spline as the 4 speed? This truck is a 2 wheel drive. Thanks, Dave S. [email protected]

My 93 F-350 has a 5 speed, (7.3diesil) its a good setup. its all aluminum, I have no idea if the bellhousings are the same,,, It does not appear that the bell separates from the tranny. I do have an old F-600, that has a 429 with a 5 speed. Now, its all cast, and the drive shaft is bolted to the output shaft, has a band style parking brake. I betcha with some crossmember work, that would be an awesome tranny behind a big block Ford. Its a prety good size tranny,, it may fit in there with the right shoe horn, Look around in the junkyards, for early 80"s F-600"s with the big block gas engines, Thats about the only other option that will bolt on to the engine, and take some abuse! You the need the Ford ZF 5 speed. Very heavy duty and ford started using them in '88. I have a 86 F350 with the 6.9 diesel and I'd love to find one for it too.

My '89 F250 has a 5 Speed trans. in it. I was told it is a Mazda MFG. Trans. My Truck was made in Canada and every time I have to get parts for it the listed Parts are not the right ones. Just replaced 3 U-Joints and Carrier Bearing Assembly and the Parts I used are listed for a F-350. Same with Brake Parts and Ball Joints. It does not say Camper Special any where on the Truck or Title but it does not use Parts for an F-250.It also has F-350 Springs on the Rear Axle .It is as purchased new,no change out of Mechanical Pieces.
