I was told that using "B" governor weights in a JD "A" will help it "recover" better when being put on a load (for pulling). I have heard of people do this but is it worth it? And where could I find some/expect to pay for them?

lighter weights would help response time on the govenor, but this is experimental, shave you A weights down equal and use a postal scale to check them, a little at a time.

Yes, lighter weights will help to hold the RPMs better, but you'll have to shave the weight off the ones you have. The weights for the A-B-G series tractors (and probably the 50-70 too) are the exact same weight, part # AC 166 I believe
