Fresh bore job with aluminum pistons, shave head .125, clean up head ports, bowls, 3 angle valve job, electronic ignition, dry filter conversion should get you about 35. The 520 head has spark plugs in it. If it did work, I don't think it would help any. Some people cut some of the divider out of the manifold to draw air and fuel out of both barrels of the carb. Since you are going to use this tractor, I don't know if you would want to go this route. I cut the divider out on a 70 one time - it really woke it up. BUT it sucked so hard through the intake I had to double the spring on the governor to make it open up properly.
