The exact aircraft engine was a Pratt & Whitney 985 cube 9 cylinder radial air-cooled. Peak power was about 450HP at 2400 RPM.

I have a number of these on the shelf here for pullers. They came with either a 2 3/4" venturi or a 2 5/8" venturi. Typically you need to have at least 400 cubes at 5500RPM or higher to make the NAR9 work correctly. An easy calc to get you in the ball park is to compare the 985cube X 2400RPM to your CID X RPM. They are a nice carb and have a mixture control lever to tweak the air/fuel ratio. The NAR7 (2 1/4" venturi) is a better fit for lower RPM, lower cube motors. I have some of these too.

They are off of late 30's vintage radial aircraft engines. And some crop dusters used them, that is where the agricultural connection comes from.
