Anyone out there build or know of someone who builds the top starter mount/crankcase cover out of steel? I appreciate any ideas and suggestions.

we have built several. we used3/8 plate and 1/2 for the up right. used old strater housing for pattern. be sure to get enough clearence between starter and flywheel.usually masking tape is enough.

Blackwidow, do you mean clearance between the bendix and the ring gear? Also, were you able to use flat steel or did you need to mill or fabricate clearance for your rods.
