cam or roller rockers

Hey fellows thinking of squeezing a little more out of my UB would the rockers do the same as a high lift cam?

The rockers will give you more lift, but where they really help you is the increased area under the curve. Your duration at .050", .100", .150" etc. lift will increase, but the total (seat to seat) duration will be virtually the same (taking into account valve lash) as with stock rockers.

Lots of people worry about how much lift they have and want a mile of lift, but the truth is that every cylinder head has a point that it doesnt matter how much lift you have, you could even take the valve completely out, and it will not flow any more air. So a bunch of lift is pointless unless your cylinder head and induction system can support it.

I think your engine could benefit from both the cam AND rockers.

Good points, Drew. And of course there are those that think a maximum-size point is ideal, so they hog out the ports as far as possible and end up hurting performance because they "killed" the velocity of the charge.
