M-M weight loss, change tire size?

The Mopower UTU is about to drop 1000# down to 4500# class for it's return to the tractor pulling world since its death (by smoke inhalation) two years ago. I should be a clean runner and up about 30 horses or more. I pull speed limit classes on fairly hard clay. Should I use a 13.6x38 or continue with a 15.5x38, maybe aggresively angling the tread back a little. Bigger tires in our light classes just spin out on top. I will continue to pull 5500# and 6500# at times too. Thanks guys.

Hey man, around here we run 14.9"s on a 12 or 13 inch rim, no joke man. With that 80 horsepower you"ll have you should have no problem turning them. In fact, I saw a UTU in Indiana running 14.9"s on an 11 inch rim whip the crap outta a bunch of wide rimmed olivers..swear to god, man, he really did. If that doesn"t convince you, think of the weight you"ll save..I swear to god man...every bit helps
