what tach to use with msd

I have msd on a massey and used a low rpm tach from jc whitney and the readings were much higher than what the engine was turning. what do I need to make it read right. thanks in advance.

I have the same tach hooked to an MSD6A and it works good.You need to connect the tach to the tach terminal on the MSD , not the coil. hope this helps.

I used a Sun tach for a while with a MSD 6A box. The Sun required an adapter (which was nothing but a coil) to make it work correctly. If I remember right it was about $25. The instructions with the MSD had the info about which tachs required it. Mike
