USE 427 CHEVROLET TRUCK HEAVY DUTY HIGH DECK .060 OVER.REMOVE SLEEVE AND BORE TO 4.310 WILL NEED TO MAKE A NEW WRIST PIN BUSHING TO ADAPT TO THE SMALLER DIAMETER PIN. YOU MAY NEED IT MADE EXCENTRIC TO ADJUST YOUR COMPRESSION RATIO. THIS WILL MAKE 409CID SAME AS DENNY SLALES . IF DONE RIGHT IT MAKES A GOOD RELIABLE ENGINE WITH NO WATER PROBLEMS AND AS DENNY SAYS IT WILL MAKE ABOUT 120 HORSE .YOU CAN USE YOUR M RODS . WILL REQUIRE A LOT OF MACHINE WORK TO RODS AND CAM AND BLOCK AND IT WILL NEED TO BE BALANCED WHEN ALL FITTING WORK IS DONE AND 7 INCHES WILL BE TIGHT BUT IT WILL FIT AND DO A GOOD JOB FOR A LONG TIME TX, DR

The old setup was to weld a Dodge or Chevy rod to the H rod, and use a 440 Dodge, or a Big block Chevy piston. Seen em hold, seen em break,,, But the problem I see is fitting that big H rod into the Chevy piston, and not have the H rod bottom out in the piston head,,, I imagine thats why they cut and paste the 2 rods toghether,,, Chad
