I don't think anyone can help you until you tell us what engine, RPM, Cubes, etc.

572 cube Case , no rpm limit , 4100 rpms so far, allways looking for more. 9n aircraft carb, heads ported and flowed. Can"t get it to come to life, can"t run full throtle,it pops, not the flotting valve sound. If it pops to long then the cam breaks.Any ideas?

How much ignition timing are you trying to run?

Gas I assume not alky?
If an NAr9b wont run wide open, ussually means too rich.

Email me with any more questions.

Shimming the valve springs helped, unhooked the extra jet, that also helped, tried a little NOS it did't pop but sounded like the valves floating.Been running a stock diesel cam till things stop breaking, any grind ideas? Timing about 30 then by ear , lots of lug turned up a little. Must run gas. Timing gear on crank was loose, so that got welded, balancer won't stay tight, cracked 2,and keyway in crank is stretched out, any ideas ? How heavy of valve springs do I need ? I think it's starving for air ,was running diesel intake , now building a new one.

Where is it poping from? carb or exhaust? Is the cam set up to run that kind of rpm? maybe the cam grind is a bit slow to run the rpm,,, duration,,, not enough time to get the charge in, and maybe opening the exhaust too fast before it comes time,,, Could the tractor cam be that way in high rpm situations???? Maybe someone could answer that,,, Chad
