Being at the Columbus,Ne pull I noticed the number of NATPA officials there and I hope they noticed the no. of people who watched the V8s.Also I hope they took note of the payouts,NOW: I know nobody is in this to "make" money, but it is the fact that in Columbia last spring the pullers were the only people in town that knew there was a tractor pull in town. The boys in Columbus make sure more than the pullers know about it because of the amount of promotion and sponsorship they seek out.I feel that expansion of the sport is a GOOD thing and if there is an existing group of pullers with machines that are "antique" at least in appearance that have the potential to draw more spectators and even participants then give it a try.I'd say set up an exhibition class at a few pulls and see how it is accepted. If it works keep it,if not scrap it!Change can keep the sport alive but doing nothing will surely alow it to die.
