Read all the discussion and just had a couple of questions and comments. First of all did anybody contact NATPA about there side? Correct me if I'M wrong, but I don't beleave NATPA has a class for the v-8's do they? Why would you haul your tractor to a pull if they don't have your class, I always call or check ads first. As for the V8's being antique, give me a break! Just because the rearend and sheet metal looks 50 years old does not make it an antique tractor. See any flathead v8's, how about 392 Hemi's, 348 or 409 Chevy, and how about 292 or 390 Fords and the list goes on. Now that would make it a real ANTIQUE V-8 tractor. Call it like it is, modified or something like that. Don't knock those who may not like them or don't want them and there are a lot of people that don't like them or want anything to do with them. If NATPA don't want them or for what ever reason can't pull them SO WHAT, go where they are wanted or can pull. When you go to watch something find out what is going to be there to watch before you go and there will be a less chance of being dissapointed. As for me I like to watch all types of tractors pull but I always check before I go to see what's going to be there. I may be wrong but I beleave that we all need to do less P---ing and Moaning and be more supportive of the sport and the groupes, clubs ect. that keep the sport going. Sometimes it sounds like a bunch of little children fighting and so on. Just like the one club here in Ohio that has a 3000 RPM limit on there V8's. At there Oct. meeting they voted on having a 5000 RPM limit classes also and it was voted down. Ok the majority said no,so that should have been the end of it but NO !!!!! At there Nov. meeting one of the V8 guys invited a non V8 guy outside because he didn't like the opions and views of the non V8 guy. Well they went out and the V8 guy and two of his friends jumped the non V8 guy. The fight was broken up quickly and nobody was hurt but why did it come to that in the first place? Now there is division in that club because one little child did'nt get his own way or should I say he did'nt get to SEE WHAT HE WANTED. Kind of sounds like ( if you don't play ball the way I say then I'll take my ball and go home )!!!!! My opion and view ( for what it's worth ) is if all of us would make a habit of acting more like an adult and less like a child it would not only bennifit the sport but ourselves also. If I only had a quarter for every time I've heard someone B---- and complain at a pull or about a pull and I've NEVER been to a pull that the promoter, club, groupe, ect. does'nt know what there doing, the pull has class after class just full of cheaters and nothing is ever done right!!!!! Is anybody getting my drift here? My feeling is if you don't like the game then take your ball, shutup and go find another game but don't make it bad for everybody else!!!!!
