if you own the head great , huge difference, some what, same manifold is okay. 450 gas manifold better ! DON'T LOOK FOR A 20HP GAIN !

You need to know what casting you have already. You may have the same exact casting as the 400-450 gas head on your Super M!! If it has the 8060, then no it has the old style head, but if it has the 8574,,, well then, that is what you want! if the SM has the 8060, you might pick up 5-7 more HP, but if it has the 8574, only the LP head will get you more, unless you do some work to the 8574 head. The 8574 casting is the same head design as the 400-450 head, just with the old 4 digit casting code. Chad

All of these old heads have cracks, some worse than others, do not buy and head until you've had it magnafluxed ! chads can help you find a head.
there is a junk yard in indiana just south of chad, can't remember the name, don't want to expose the town ! call chads 574.893.7437 !
