I am planning to put 88 Oliver hubs on a Farmall M so I can run steel pressed wheels. How do you narrow the keyway so it will fit the Farmall axle??

I ground the key in the hub from a oliver 77 to fit my H, I used a grinder with a cut off wheel to cut a line in the key where I needed to remove part of the key, then used a regular grinding wheel to remove the extra,

The times I have seen this done they ground out the keyway in the axle to fit the hub.
