Here are some great 1206 Wheatland tractor pulling pictures courtesy of Greg Lussetto from the western part of Nebraska. He said this 1206 belonged to his Dad's cousins. It pretty well was the tractor to beat in that part of the country in the mid 1970's.Maybe Greg will come on here and tell us some more about this tractor.

Have seen this tractor pull a few times, very, very impressive, should have seen how long it took to get that white smoke to turn to black. At a Denver pull we asked him how much boost he was running, his answer was the gage only goes to 100. It and Running Bear were some of our favorites back then.

Sorry about the mistake, been a lot of pulls and tractors. Stan's name does ring a bell now and what I said about the 1206 still goes for the 986, was one of the highlite's of the day to watch him pull.
Did they both hail from that same little town where IH's ruled?

bet he did good in the stock classes!! ha ha anyway, i bet he is running water as well, with that much fuel going into it, things would break otherwise i am sure. man what a ride that must be. has that tractor ever pulled in Michigan?

I doubt that the 1206 had water injection.I pulled a 856 IH 12,000 SS tractor at the same time with similar horsepower and we didnt run any water.

This 1206 wheatland puller was out of western Nebraska in the mid 70's and I'm sure it only pulled in that area of the country.Back then you didnt have to go very far from home to hit alot of pulls.

RedFred,Greg said the 1206 wheatland pulled the 15,000 lb class in high 1st and the 12,000 class in high 2nd.That takes at least 450-500 horses to do.I used to pull a 400 horse 856 IH.

I farm with two 1206's that are around 140-150 horses each. They will each pull a 21 ft Krause disk,24 ft IH field cultivator, and a 14 ft IH chisel in high 1st with the TA forward.

I grew up in western Neb. in the 70's and didn't see that 1206 pull, too bad. On the other hand Greg's Dad, Pete had a hot IH M superstock running in th late 70's maybe we could get some pictures of it pulling posted.

Steve,Greg is trying to dig out some pictures of his Dad's old M Farmall SS tractor.By the way the owner of the 1206 was Joe Newkirk of Reddington,NE which was SW Of Bridgeport. The pictures were taken in July 1975 at Alliance,NE.
