We are getting ready to start on a UB puller this fall. Is there anyone who will let me know where I can see some pictures of UBs set up to pull? Does anyone know where I can see a picture of the family traditions 2 UB, thats a nice tractor and I would just like to see a pic of it and decide which paint scheme to use. I dont know if I like the school bus yellow color or what? Thanks

I think once I paint the UB, It will be all yellow, or yellow with white wheels. I probably will not use school bus yellow, but the original Prarie Gold which really stands out among other tractors. Here's a pic of Dad on the current rusty beast.

I am using tires that look exactly like those Goodyears on the back. Are those 15.5's?I have heard negative about them but I can honestly say that I have had good luck with mine.

Yeah, 15.5 tires. Short enough for my small puller engine to still lug well. I almost thing 13.6 or 14.9 would work better on the hard track or I could weight up to 6500# and let the 15.5 work a bit more!

I have heard bad and good with that style tread. On looser and uneven tracks, we have had excellent luck acheiving 2nd and 3rd places consistently in our fairly large club. However, on our home track, we rarely get close if the clay is hard or hard & dry. Next year we are switching to Firestone Deep Treads that are cut on sheet metal rims and adding about 30-40 horsepower. By observing others, I can tell if you cut those goodyears sharp clear to the tip of the tread with enough angle, they will compete just fine. I see it happen with Warren Townsend's Cockshutts. The front tips of our road-worn bars are rounded now unlike his nicely shapened tires. I'm no expert, but I think it depends on how close the track is to the consistency of CEMENT. I may give them one more chance with a good cut someday.
