Forget the sleeves, run on the existing bore, less the sleeve !

It could run forever like that, but once it wears out, its done, there is no overbore pistons for 4-1/8th bore for a SM-450. If you want the 4-1/8th bore, just have the M block fitted with the 450 sleeves. That way you have something that is rebuildable, still have the original block in the tractor, (if rules keep you from running the later blocks) If they dont, then find a late model block. You would have to bore the M block to 4.25 for the 450 barrel diameter, and fit the sleeve flange to fit as well. In my opinion, Id have the 450 sleeve flange cut down in diameter to match the M specs, that way, your not weakening the top of the block deck, yeah it cost a little more, and be more of a hassle come time to rebuild if you ever had to. But the block would be safer. Just my 2 cents, Chad
