The Ol Whopper Popper.. I wondered where that tractor went.. Before you change injectors you need to know what pistons are in the tractor... by pulling the injectors you should know what pistons are in the tractor.. if the are still the stock injectors.. (I think they had 4 holes in the tips..) Then you probably (99%) have the stock R pistons... If you have the R pistons.. you can not change to the later injectors.. The Stock injectors shoot the fuel into a hole in the top of the piston.. the later injectors inject the fuel into a bowl on the tops of the pistons.. You could have the R injectors modified.. or maybe R tips made.. If you have the later style pistons.. two things need to be looked at... One.. how many holes are in the injector tip.... this will tell you if it has 730 or 830 tips... Second... what does the end of the injector tip look like.. is it pointed.. or is the tip straight with normal little injector sack on the end... The R head had a tappered hole for the injectors.. (so the injector tips needed to be tappered too... ) the later tractors had a straight hole into the head for the tips... You can drill out the R head to fit the later injectors... or you can turn the later injectors down on a lathe to match the R injectors... I'm just going to guess that that tractor has the later pistons in it.. just going by what the pervious owner had done to some of this other tractors... but there is no telling about the injectors... Just going from memory.. I believe the 80 injectors were 5 hole .010 holes.. The 830 and 730's were bigger.. (and had more holes.) There are ALOT bigger injectors out there, for a good price..
On the pumps.. see what pumps you have in the tractor... you will be better off with the 13mm pump.. (stock were 10mm's) Take the pump cover off.. and make sure you are getting full travel of the rack.... If GPower posts on here.. you need to talk to him about the injectors... (and maybe some pumps..) He'll have what you need... to get that R pulling... JDGnut
