Well, that's what I'd like to do. I've a 560 diesel just sitting around doing nothing. Collecting rat nests and rust. I'm going to do a complete tear down and at at a mininum a show tractor, but, if the 560 is a potiential puller, who has the skinny on 560's?

depends what they are pulling against, they will hold their own against a 4010.
if the 4010 adds a 466 you will not touch him,if a 806 show everyone competes for second.

Now, this means nothing to me. I assume you"re talking a JD and a 466 is some sort of engine. And the 806 is an IH. But again you aren"t adressing what I"m asking.
Regarless what place the 560 may or may not place in competition, I have the tractor.
It"s apparent that indeed 560"s do compete, but what does it take to make it a competant puller?

need the rules, you can get around 750hp out of that engine.
copper head gasket, twin turbos,injectors,P-pump and she will spin around 5000.
can be done, but if that is the rules you will be looking at a open class and you will see 560s with DT466 engines bolted to then running double that hp with the same parts.
in a stock class or a limited rpm turbo class they will do good, bolt on a turbo and turn up the pump and play.

Thanks, Now that gives me some wiggle room to work with.
Find the rule book, figure out which class I want to run, build accordingly.

I'd like to stay with the stock version right now, adding the turbo would be an easy addition. That sounds like the angle right now. If I want to go BIG, I'll get a bigger tractor with a bigger engine... ;o]
