ac governor opens stalling tractor

ac governor opens sometimes at idle causing tractor to stall and sometimes die . adjust rod to keep this from happening and governor doesnt seam to come in . but the engine doesnt seam to bogg under the load either.The only time i hear the governor come in is when i stand on the brakes while the tractor is pulling. last weekend i pulled a 2200lbs pound sled with a super a farmall riding on it with 22 people also standing onsled 300ft and the governor never openned . any help in set up would be appreciated. thanks

Put you governor back were it was and tune your engine up. Sounds like a good fuel system cleaning is in order.
