Spark plugs for Jerry`s head ?

Does anyone have a recomendation for spark plugs on a big G with a Jerry`s head ? I will be using a Pertronix ignition and coil with a M.S.D. box also. Thank`s

JD720 Are you going to run the plugs in the head of block? We did a stroked G a few years ago with one of these heads and dynoed it using both plug locations and plugs in the block made 80 hp and ones in head made 81 hp. Not enough measured difference. The tractor belongs to a friend and he uses R44TS or R44LTS in the block. We dyno the tractor and look at the plugs to get the heat range. I run plugs in my head on an A and use R42TS but I dynoed this motor and could probably use colder plugs. Lynn

When you start running at higher compressions and use high energy high voltage ignition systems and wider plug gaps GOOD PLUG WIRES N BOOTS N CAPS ETC become realllll llll important. You might wanna check with Pertronix or MSD as they use resistor plug wires on some of their applications I believe.

On our "A" JWMS head, we use AC R44LTS or R44LTSM. I forgot which way around it is, but one is a hotter plug than the other. I dont know if the thread engagement is the same length b/t the A and the G, but make sure that the plug comes thru the hole into the chamber, and the electrode isnt up inside the sparkplug hole.

For spark plug wires, the wires off a 3.4 DOHC GM V-6 have hard plastic boots that make it easy to get the wires on the plug way up in the hole.
