I just bought a 1355 oliver to set up and pull in the hot stock classes. I will put a blower and P pump on it and was wondering how big a guy could bore a 585 out or if it would even help to do it since we can only run a 3 LM windmill. An also any ideas to lighten it up besides the obvious and swithing the rearend to a smaller 55 series tractor.

I believe the 55 series were Oliver rear ends. Reverting to a G900 rear end would really lighten things up, but I don't know what you are willing to do or what your rules allow. There is a fella that converts those heads over to accept a standard injector so you can get rid of the funny fuel cell piston thing. I'm not sure how far you could bore the 585. (A HD800 6" crank will bolt in there.)

585 MM motors are direct injected so they do not have an energy cell , Mr MM super puller

No kidding. If you read the post I said in the "piston". The 585 engine had a funny shape to the top of the piston to act as a fuel cell, controlling the burn. There is a man that reworks the heads to take later style injectors to work with normal pistons. I'm no super puller, but I wouldn't say it if I hadn't seen it.

You can go bigger, but I don't think it will help much unless you buy a high dollar charger. I know this is a crazy question, but have you checked into beefing up the bottom end of the motor. I have a few ideas on making it lighter but don't know what you have in mind.
