How big should I bore my John Deere Block?

I was wondering how big I should bore my John Deere A block and i was wondering what i should do to the head of my John Deere also thanks.

Its a 1942 and i want to pull 4500# and want to spend about $500.00 on it

$500 isnt going to go very far at all. A .125" overbore isnt going to help much, 2hp tops on a stock engine. If it must be bored, bore it enough to clean up and call it good. A good 6-1 power block is going to run aprox. $1200, so that isnt an option here. I would take the $$ and put it towards rocker arms/camshaft/cylinder head work.
