Piston and sleeve set. Super M should have a 264 block, so you can step it up to the overbore from 4" to 4 1/8" to make it a 281. These kits are available from many many aftermarket sources such as Hy-Capacity, TISCO and A&I. Polish the exhuast side up like glass on the head and manifold area, change the governor spring drill out the main jet a couple letter bits and you are on your way. Cheap improvements to make some cheap horsepower.

you could use Super M pistons right on the iron. Seen it done. Works well. 52hp on the pony break at local show.

This may be a dumb idea, but can you use a SB Chevy 400 piston?

The compression height will be too short. The wrist pin on a SBC is .927", I dont know what the IH is, but I know its bigger than that. Another potential problem is the ring pack is high up on the piston and if the motor sees much detonation it can blow the tops off the pistons.

They will work and you can stroke it to around 6 1/8 use the M rod and rebush or offset accordinly.
