Depends on where you are pulling. Local clubs usually don't check RPM's unless it is just a spot check and they have it in their rules or you are a new member. Most of the BIG pulls, Sigourney, Columbus,& Pella, check before and after here in the Midwest.

I am from the Midwest and agree with what you said except for Pella Ia. I go to both there pulls every year. They weigh all tractors (Yet) but I haven't seen them check any RPM or drawbars for several years now and the crowed is starting to show it as it is getting smaller every event. It petty much run what you brung anymore, and the locals are not supporting it anymore. It is sure to bad as it is the top power track in the country with good sleds but they need to realize they need to do more than just collect the money from the pullers. I guess if they are happy with a smaller turn out they should keep it up as it continues to get smaller every event.

At Sigourney, we check everyone's rpm before they pull. For the finalists of the 5500 classic class, we check their rpms after they pull as well.

Thanks for the input Jon. You may know me as I used to be from What Cheer. Sam Kitzman and I used to run around together in our younger days.

Jack Blaylock "MAKE MY DAY" is my tractor.
