On my H the flange on the manifold and the flange on the carb do not match in size. when you put the carb on there is room on both ends of the manifold flange. does this mean this is a SH manifold or not??

The big carb overhangs the manifold? That means it is a H manifold, if the H carb is samll on the manifold it could be a SH manifold, usually the holes are slotted if it is an aftermarket manifold to fit both carbs on. But if its not, and the big carb does not fit the manifold studs, but fits the H carb, it is an H manifold. Chad

Is it the original intake? If the flange holes are slotted, the studs will screw into the carb and have the nuts on top of the flange to hold the carb onto the flange. If the studs are threaded into the manifold flange, and are not slotted, and the M carb does not bolt onto to the studs, it is a straight H manifold. Now, you can take a die grinder to the manifold flange, and slot the holes to allow the big carb to fit, use a M carb gasket as a pattern, and elongate the threaded holes and use studs, or 3/8 bolt to hold the carb to the flange, putthe bolt thru the carb flange, up into the manifold and put the nuts on top of the flange. It does sound like it has an aftermarket manifold, but an older version, when you could still order them for the H and Super H-350 separatly. Now days, one manifold fits all. Hope this helps,, Chad

The manifold is a sloted one does this mean a SH or an M carb will fit??

Yes, it is a H-350 manifold, and is the updated version manifold. Both, H and M carbs will fit this manifold. See, they did make 2 new style manifolds,,, the older ones, had 2 flange sizes, to fit the H, which had the small flange, and then the ones for the SH-350 which had the big flange, That does get expencive to purcahse, and to have them made, so they made them universal to end the confusion. M carb, a #25 venturi, jet to your needs to feed it fuel. I think just a main jet change is nessisary in your case, not themetering stem,, so it should be a simple upgrade for you to perform. What kind of fuel are you running? ChadS

How much compression does it have/ if its over 150, run a M carb with a #25 venturi, if its less that 150psi, run a #23 venturi with the M carb. What did you mean by mostly 94? Are you mixing fuels? ChadS
