M-M U puller whats the best set-up

Just bought a Minneapolis Moline U with a standard front. Just wondering what is the best set up to go without having to stroke the motor. Thanks for any advice. AK

If you plan on running in Div 4, it will be far cheaper to run a bolt-in G crank than to try to compete with a U crank. 5.75 blocks are available for yours, but they are about $4500 with pistons, rings, and gaskets on a 4 cylinder. I would run a 4.81 x 6.125 and that would probably be the best power for your money at maybe 120 h.p. The best you can do with M5 blocks and real good M670 heads would be 90 h.p. unless you would like to turn some RPMs, but that would still involve some bottom end work.

There's a UB Moline in my club that would be real competetive in Div. 2 if he was running 15.5x38s.

In division 3 you could compete with M5 blocks bored to 4.81, M670 10A4232 heads, pierce governor, M670 carb, aluminum pistons, etc. 90 h.p. should do you ok there possibly. That would make approximately 350 cubes.

good luck without stroking it..... .....d 4 is impossible.....d3 without doin any crank work would be tough...its easy to just throw a G crank in and now its 6" stroke..and alot more alive....

Try putting a set of 5 1/2 cummins pistons in there, bet that would work!
