I"ve got an extra set of lycoming 5.125 pistons on the shelf. That"s what most guys like in the B powerblocks.

Custom built only for 30 thou. How about a thin sleeve in the power block back to stock bore? Worked great in my 5-3 for the 50. Or some monster oversize 250 thou? for the powerblock? They are shelf stocked.

How thick is the sleeve in your 5-3? How much over did it have to be bored to put the sleeve in? Who has these sleeves? I have a 6-2 that may need sleeved to to work at 6.125.

Thanks!

I sent the block to the machine shop where the Father-inlaw works. The sleeves were 3/16 thick but had almost 1/8" machined out to obtain the bore size. The sleeve liners were frozen then press fitted into the over bored power-bloc sleeves. Some wonder glop sleeve locker was applied on the bottom half of the sleeves. Some sleeve shop in Texas is about the last place making sleeves long and large enough dia. The 6-1, 6-2 & 6-3 should bore fine to 6.125 for a G piston.

Key word there, 'SHOULD' bore fine to 6.125". This block was ran without pin keepers and has groves worn into the bore. When I bought this block, only seeing pics and without seeing it in person, I was told that these groves would clean up fine at 6.080, but it is really more like 6.110ish. I have airplane pistons that are slightly smaller than 6.125 (forgot exact dims off the top of my head). In theory, it should clean up, but if the groves are worn off center, then I'm up $#it creek without a paddle. I am already looking ahead and making a 'Plan B' just in case.

There are some engines out there that run fine with a thou or two deep groove on the cylinder wall.
