John Deere A carb on a late B?

Any one know is there mutch to gain putting a late A carb on a late B? I have herd that it can help make some extra HP. I am punching it .045 over and pitting in some nice new aluminum slugs. I ported the head and intake, and ame having the hed cut down a little. If the A carb will help, how hard is the swap? Not sure if the holes will line up or not. If any one has some insight in to this I would be greatfull.

got a 49 b with late a carb. works great bolted right up.

I TRIED A DLTX71 (LATE A GAS)ON MY B AND A DLTX33 (EARLY A ALL-FUEL)AND NEITHER WORKED AS WELL AS THE DLTX69 (LATE B GAS). MY B'S ENGINE IS LARGE ENOUGH I THOUGHT THE A CARBS WOULD BE PERFECT BUT I WAS WRONG. THE BEST RUNNING B I HAVE SEEN HAS ALUMINUM PISTONS WITH A HEISLER FLAT HEAD. HOPE THIS HELPS.
